Tell me about your The Beginning!
Simon and Natasha met each other as children on a youth group camp at twelve years old, then kissed on a later summer camp in their mid teens. Between these years, and until they were 20 years old, they never really spoke. Then, one day, we spoke… and it clicked. That kiss six years ago all made sense! We kissed as twenty year olds at a trashy nightclub instead, and the love blossomed.
When and where did you get engaged?
We got engaged in January 2020. Following their weekly boxing session, Simon took Natasha for ‘breakfast’, but first wanted to go for a quick walk down to Black Rock beach. Natasha was tired and mad, she wanted to eat and not walk. She complained and refused to walk. Simon pointed to a picnic he had previously set up on the sand, and Tash was extremely surprised. She even refused to go near it, assuming it was someone else’s special set up. Simon got down on his knee and asked her to marry him, and she realised the picnic rug was actually their rug, and so she agreed. They shared kisses, champagne and pre-prepared sandwiches in the sun!
What style/theme/colours have you chosen for your Wedding Day?
We hired furniture which are pinks and greens and reds. The theme is party vibes, so we are having a cocktail style event, with velvet chairs and couches and ottomans.
What are you most looking forward to on the day?
Being able to celebrate our nearly 13 year relationship with family and friends. We are also looking forward to the wedding in general, because it was originally planned for 2020, but Covid changed our plans and gave us a baby instead!
Try to be assertive and ask for help when you need it. But, if you ask for one opinion, they will give you two. Do what makes you happy. Everyone thinks they’ll do their wedding better than the person before them. Aim to have a wedding that is ‘perfect’ for you.
Nothing is ever going to be perfect, humans are messy, accept the chaos and ridiculous mark-up on everything wedding related!
